My name is Shawn Maguire. I’ve spent over 30 years sitting across from hurting people and helping them find their way back to themselves. I started counseling in 1994, and in 2003 I founded New Vision Counseling and Consulting because I wanted to build something different — a place where therapists could do their best work without losing themselves in the process.

For Graduate Interns
You’ve studied the theories. Now you want to sit with a real client and know what you’re doing when you get there. That’s exactly what this internship builds in you.
You’ll observe at least 7 sessions before seeing a client on your own. You’ll get individual supervision from clinicians who actually invest in your growth. You’ll sit in our team meetings as part of the team — not as a spectator. We build around Planning, Skill, and Presence — because knowing what to do and knowing how to be in the room with someone are both things you can learn here.
